We are working towards expanding our Research for Credit. Community groups and organizations working towards social justice would be connected with students who will get credit towards their university degree for conducting research for community groups. If your group/organization would be interested in participating in this program, please contact the People’s History Project archivist.

Incorporate primary source documents into any course or lesson, and give students the opportunity to engage with Kingston’s history and ongoing parcticipation in social justice movements.
Make a request to borrow material related to any available topic and an archivist will compile and deliver these materials to you. Please ensure that requests are submitted to the People’s History Project archivist at least one week in advance.
If you would be interested in working with an archivist to develop a workshop about primary source documents for your students, please contact the archivist.
The People’s History Project offers a collection of resources that are not typically found in most archives. Access the archives in person or online to add to your research on any applicable topic.
If you are conducting research that is related to histories of social justice in the Kingston community, consider donating some of your primary source documents to the People’s History Project archives.
Give your students an introduction to alternative archives and primary source documents by booking a session with the archivist. A brief introduction, including how documents are selected for inclusion in archives, can be given at the Grey House on Queen’s campus or in your classroom. Please submit your request at least one week in advance.
Encourage your students to conduct research that contributes to their community. In lieu of a term project or paper, students can participate in the Research for Credit program by researching a topic related to social justice in Kingston. If you and/or your students have an idea for a project, submit your proposal to the People’s History Project archivist.
